Social Entrepreneur Meetup in Chapel Hill Tonight

September 13th, 2007 · No Comments

meetupIt’s that time again. Time to hang out with some of the most ambitious, intelligent, successful, fun, and lively people in the Triangle area, and try to somehow make them think I’m just like them.

From the writeup on Ryan’s blog it looks like this one should be the most interesting yet, with a few presentations from local entrepreneurs. the announced presenters so far are Bookmesh and the Millenium Village Project, with a possible 3rd mystery presenter. Bookmesh is still in private beta preview, so it will be interesting to get a sneak peak (I’ve submitted myself to be a tester, but I’m stil waiting).

The Millenium Village Project is a student-led effort to help eradicate poverty worldwide. From their vision statement:

“We the students of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University, and Bennett College, as members of a greater global community, feel a responsibility to dedicate our energy and resources to empower those in extreme poverty, and to demonstrate the role of universities as catalysts for global change.”
